After Bonang Matheba was announced as the replacement host for Trevor Noah for the upcoming MTV Africa Music Awards earlier today, Nigerian singer Yemi Alade and South Africa actress and model Nomzamo Mbathahave been announced as her co-hosts.

MTV Base Africa made this announcement today, Friday, October 21, 2016 at a press conference in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The event will feature performances from African acts includingNasty C, Babes Wodumo, Yemi Alade, Ycee, Cassper Nyovest, Alikiba, Wizkid, DJ Maphorisa, C4 Pedro and Kenya music group Sauti Sol.
