Victoria Beckham sets a fashion industry record with her children's wear, collaboration with a terget
the first time ever, Victoria Beckham is trying her hand at children’s wear. But that’s not the only reason we’re amped up for her Target collection, which will debut April 9, 2017, and includes 200 items for ladies and kids in a wide range of sizes. Victoria chose to base her new pieces off the playfulness in her Victoria, Victoria Beckham line. That means a range that’s equally as wearable as it is bold and hopefully splashed with recognizable prints. (We’re sure there will be a few mommy-and-me styles available too.) But before we get to see the clothes, we’ve got every reason to consider the collab’s inclusivity. For the first time ever, every size will be available in stores and online, ranging from XS to 3X for women and New Born to XL for babies, toddlers, and girls. Victoria even plans to sell select designs on her own site, so customers can shop internationally.
“I can reach so many more women through working with Target. It’s not just because of the price point but because of how many stores that they have, located all around America. These are women that I haven’t been able to reach out to in the past, and I always say that I want to empower women and make women look like the best versions of themselves. That shouldn’t be only people who can afford to spend a certain amount of money,” Victoria told Business of Fashion.
Read on for a first look at the new logo and announcement, then check out our predictions for the new pieces you’ll be adding to your closet come Spring. You might want to get in line right now — the limited-edition collection will only be available for one month or until supplies last.
Mrs folorunsho alakija raising the nearest generation of female leaders

You've got to go out and kick ass." This encapsulates the idea behind AWLO in its theme "WE'VE GOT THE POWER"
The conference showcased different sessions which included the plenary, panel discussions, inauguration of the AWLO Youth Council, the Youth Summit and the Awards and Gala night.

We also had Honourable Senator Donzella James, welcoming delegates to the conference and charging us to arise to the challenge of raising the next generation of female leaders.

Kano States house of assembly approves 15 year's for rapist, life imprisonment for kidnappers
The Kano State House of Assembly has passed into law, a bill seeking for life imprisonment for kidnappers and 15 years sentence for rapists in the state.
Hon. Yussuf Attah, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, who read the Kidnapping, Abduction and Forced Labour Amendment Bill 2016 before the Assembly today Monday, October 31, said the committee of the whole Assembly passed the bill after considering the amendment.
"The law has been in existence since 1963, but did not provide serious punishment for kidnappers, therefore, we have to amend it to suit the current situation," said Attah.
According to the lawmaker representing Fagge Constituency, any person found guilty of kidnapping would face life imprisonment without an option of fine while anyone found guilty of rape or forced labour will be sentenced to 15 years without an option of fine.
Speaking with newsmen after the passage of the bill, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Salisu Riruwe, hailed the amendment as a welcome development.
"With the passage of this anti-kidnapping law, we are hoping that the rampant cases of kidnapping and abduction in some areas of the state will come to an end," Mr. Riruwe said.

Seven batsh*t things megyn Kelly actually said she is kind of worst
This election season has turned us all into a
Vitamix of emotions and confusion. Some days,
it’s just hard to process the influx of information.
It’s happened to everyone at one point or another,
when you find yourself legitimately reading your
cheating ex-boyfriend’s repost of an
InfoWars.com headline, or are casually reeled in
by click-bait and realize you literally have no idea
what you stand for anymore.
Well, my friends, that happened to me just
yesterday, when I heard myself giving Megyn Kelly
a silent slow-clap in my head, along with a jovial
“You go girl! You’re the BEST.” Say whaat?
After a quick self-assessment and research-driven
reality check, I found myself realigned with reality.
Megyn Kelly still sucks. She’s no chill-inducing
Ann Coulter, but she has said some crazy,
unforgivable nonsense in her day.
1. She Said Santa and Jesus Are Definitely
White
In anticipation of the holidays, remember when
she said, with authority, that Santa Claus and
Jesus are/were definitely white. She actually
called this a “verifiable fact.” Sorry, kids. (I am
more sorry your parents are making you watch
Fox News).
2. She Didn’t Get Why Sandra Bland Was
Treated Differently by Cops Than She Is
That time she accused Hillary of “pandering” by
calling an investigation into Sandra Bland’s death .
Oh, and followed that by this lovely anecdote
about how once she also annoyed a cop and
didn’t manage to die:
“You know, maybe he doesn’t like the fact
that she didn’t comply right away. That’s
how cops are. I’ve tried to defy a cop
before. Well, not really, but I was kind of
slow in producing my, you know, license and
registration. And they don’t like it. They get
irritated. I’m just saying, why?”
3. She Accused Michelle Obama of Self-
Victimization
She accused Michelle Obama’s powerful
discussion of racism at Tuskegee University of
being “very controversial” and an example of
“bitter-half politics” contributing to a “culture of
victimization” in what is becoming a “Cupcake
Nation.” I totally got that vibe hearing the FLOTUS
passionately discuss the “rising hopes and
fortunes for all African-Americans” despite “past
obstacles and outrages.” You are so woke,
Megyn.
4. She’s Not Down With Maternity OR
Paternity Leave
For the feminists out there, remember this?
Megyn Kelly argued adamantly against paternity
leave and called maternity leave “anti-capitalist.”
We all did a Hunger Games dual-finger salute a
short time later when she verbally destroyed Mike
Gallagher after he called her own maternity leave
“a racket.” I gave her props with major qualifiers
here. So did Jon Stewart who decided she must
have gotten a case of “postpartum compassion.”
5. She Thinks Pepper Spraying Students Is
Chill
There was also that time Megyn Kelly brushed
aside the incident involving the UC Davis police
force pepper-spraying a group of nonviolent
student protesters on campus. According to
Megyn, pepper-spray isn’t really all that bad,
because “it’s a food product, essentially.”
6. She Called Grants for Low-Income
Communities “Social Engineering”
In 2015, when President Obama pushed a bill that
offered grant incentives to communities that
could prove “inclusivity and diversity,” Megyn
Kelly proclaimed he was pushing “social
engineering of the worst kind” (I would argue that
the Nazis actually practiced social engineering of
the worst kind, but I digress).
She also prefaced this topic on her television
show, The Kelly File, saying “The man who
changed your health care system forever is now
pushing to change your neighborhood!” Yes,
Megyn, diversity and healthcare will tear this
country apart.
7. She Thinks “Yes Means Yes” Infringes on
Men’s Rights
Oh yeah, we can’t forget about when she whined
about how New York’s “Yes Means Yes”
affirmative consent law was infringing on the
rights of men. In addition to defining consent, the
law provides funding for investigations into rapes
on college campuses and creates resources, like
hotlines, for victims of sexual abuse. “We are
going in a direction where we almost entirely
eliminate the rights of men, and there’s a
presumption now in these campuses, thanks to
the Obama administration, of guilt, and if you are
a young man who gets accused, it’s your burden
to go in there and prove consent, and we’re
getting to the point where you have to have a
contract — and if you don’t, you’re gonna be
presumed a rapist.”
I actually can’t even deal with this one. I don’t
even think Detective Olivia Benson could reason
with someone accusing rape victims of making
life difficult for their rapists by having the audacity
to accuse them of rape. No, you don’t need a
contract. You literally just need to not be a rapist.
Ultimately, Megyn Kelly isn’t the absolute worst
(see the aforementioned Ann Coulter). I’ll give her
credit where credit is due (her defense of
transgender people when Chaz Bono was on
Dancing with the Stars was both surprising and
inspired), but she has a seriously long way to go
before I would consider her the ultimate
champion for women – or anyone, for that
matter.
An understanding of equality is not something
that can be manipulated to comfortably fit into
the political climate, nor can it be reserved for
one or two subjugated groups. Regardless, this
election has had me yearning for simpler times,
like when the most sexually aggressive
statements were when Jeb Bush offered us all a
“warm kiss” (RIP Republican debates 2016), and
when the most violence exhibited by a
presidential candidate was the time Mitt Romney
strapped his dog to the roof of his car for a
leisurely 12-hour road trip.
The Victoria's secret model actually seems so eazy
Longtime Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra
Ambrosio detailed her diet to Net-a-Porter and it
sounds way more chill than we expected. In fact,
it sounds a little too chill.
“I don’t cut any food groups,” she said, which
makes her starkly different from former Angel
Gisele Bundchen who won’t even eat a damn
tomato. “I’m all about moderation and eating
something different every day.”
Okay, that sounds super easy. Aren’t we all all
about that? Alessandra adds that she tries “not to
splurge on pasta,” but when she’s in her native
Brazil, she eats whatever she wants because
“everything is pasta- or bread-based.” Then, when
she gets back, she reverts to “lots of salads and
chicken or fish with vegetables.”
She also is down for dark chocolate on airplanes,
cocktails with friends on weekends, a glass of red
wine with dinner most nights, and a cup of tea
and a cupcake two to three days a week.
Seriously, this sounds so normal — why don’t we
all look like VS models? Clearly, Alessandra’s
leaving out some crucial intel here. This can’t be
everything, unless she really is just that genetically
blessed.
But there is one useful nugget of advice for
people who are trying to cut down: if you find
yourself binge eating, just convince yourself that
your job depends on your ability to stop after one
cookie! From Alessandra:
“[When I was 15 and first started having my
own money to buy food], there were times
when I would eat a whole packet of cookies.
But then I taught myself not to do that,
basically by reminding myself how horrible it
felt the last time. Oh, and of course I would
lose my job, so that was another incentive.”
So next time you’re doing a nose dive into a pint
of Ben & Jerry’s and looking for some motivation,
think of 15-year-old Alessandra exercising
discretion with her cookie packet.
Or, you know what? Just say screw it and eat a
cupcake with a big ol’ glass of red. Because
you’re not a Victoria’s Secret model, you’re just a
normal earthling. The secrets of the Angels are
not for us to know, and ice cream just tastes too
good.
Gidi hadid save her kissing virginity for age 15, read more below
Most people wantonly toss their first kiss away on
an idiot in a puka shell necklace with spikey hair
at a middle school dance.
But Gigi Hadid is not most people. Gigi Hadid is
a friendly and adorable supermodel who also
grew up in a mega-mansion.
So it makes sense, kind of, that she saved her
kissing virginity until age 15 — in fact, she was
the last one of her friends to kiss a boy.
“I wasn’t that young,” she told Dazed when asked
about her first kiss. “I think I was, like, 15 or 16.
Everyone was younger than me. I was one of the
last ones.”
Dazed neglected to follow up on this question but
the takeaway is this: Gigi Hadid is hella picky
when it comes to who she kisses. Because why
wouldn’t she be? Go Gigi go.
Selena Gomez is reportedly back in rehab, here is why
Two days after she randomly popped up at a
chain restaurant in small-town Tennessee, news
has broken that Selena Gomez is reportedly back
in rehab.
We all know that Selena decided to take a hiatus
from being famous in order to deal with the
“anxiety, panic attacks and depression” that can
come from having lupus, publicly fighting with
your ex, and having to deal with one of your
closest friends getting murdered, but what we
didn’t know was how she was doing that.
A source told Us Weekly that the facility Selena’s
at is “super intense” and “a private and quiet
place,” although apparently not private and quiet
enough to keep a secret.
The source also added that “Selena is dealing
with lupus, but this break is to focus on her
mental health,” whatever that means.
If you’ll recall, this isn’t Selena’s first time
checking into rehab.
Back in 2014, a year after she was first diagnosed
with lupus and her mother miscarried, Selena
checked into rehab for two weeks , with her reps
citing “emotional issues” and “partying” as the
reasons. TMZ claims that at the time she was
checked into a 6-week program called DAWN,
which helps people addicted to marijuana, alcohol
and prescription Ambien, but she bailed early to
promote a movie.
As you can imagine, Selena’s reps denied all of
that, and all the details of Selena’s stint in rehab
were kept hush hush
Now, two years later, here she is again.
Whatever’s going on with Selena, let’s hope that
this time she gets the help she needs.
Six grossing things Victoria girls has to do to seem hot
1. Wiping Your Junk With Corncobs
It’s easy to forget that toilet paper is a modern
invention, but crotchless underwear is not. In fact,
almost all Victorian women wore crotchless
undergarments. But it wasn’t to be sexy. It was so
that they could squat over the bedpan in their
intricate ballgowns. For wiping purposes,
they used corncobs, leaves, or old newspapers.
Lovely!
2. Bathing Naked Meant You Were a Hoe
Shit was dirty as fuck in these days, and it was
super easy to get sick. The problem is, male
doctors just weren’t so sure if they were ready to
have women bathing in the nude. I mean, what
harlots, right? Men decided that women should
stay dirty and potentially contract a life-
threatening disease rather than do anything
deemed slutty or “loose.”
3. Perfume Was Made From Whale Shit
Because bathing was still a rare and questionable
activity, women instead turned to perfume to
mask the fact that they smelled like ass. In fact,
even with their perfume they probs still smelled
like ass, because the most popular scent of the
time was ambergris, a concoction made from a
dead sperm whale’s intestines. Sounds delicious.
4. Raw Meat Was The OG Anti-Wrinkle Cream
Maybe Lady Gaga didn’t wear that meat dress to
make a statement, maybe she was just trying to
give some TLC to her skin. After all, in the old
days Victorian women would sleep with thin slices
of raw beef on their faces in hopes of restoring
youthful skin. Who needs anti-wrinkle cream when
you have sheep’s fat and veal lard?
5. The Weight Loss Cure Was Tapeworms
and Coke
A lot of things have changed since the Victorian
age, but one thing that has not was society
deciding that all women should be on the smaller
side. But instead of being coaxed to hit the gym
or try Weight Watchers, the larger lady of yore
was given “weight-loss drugs.” These weight-loss
drugs involved arsenic, strychnine, cocaine, and
tapeworm larvae. Normal.
6. Your Whole Life Revolved Around
Getting Preggers
Sure, this whole beauty routine may sound
intense, but it’s all good. Women didn’t have to
try to be cute all that long before finding their real
purpose in life – having babies.
“Try to imagine your uterus as a highly strung,
frantic woman . . . she can’t stand being bored.
She wants challenges! She wants work to
do,” writes Oneill.
Um… ew. We’ll take Snapchat fuckboys and
wireless headphones over bedpans any day. Sure,
2016 has been kind of shitty. But just remember,
it could always be worse.

Tell us a little about yourself, where did you grow
up?
I grew up in LA and then I moved to New York
when I was 18 to attend NYU. I was in Gallatin
(NYU’s individualized study school), so I got to do
a little bit of everything.
What did you study in school?
Well Gallatin is extraordinary because you get to
create your own major, you get to go with the
flow. But at the same time, it really takes a
diligent and focused person because you are
responsible for creating your own education, and
your own path for four years. Let alone not a lot
of college students know what they want to do,
so to be responsible for your path was definitely a
challenge that was rewarding at the end of the
day.
I mixed fashion, digital media, and little bit of
psychology. I’m interested in what people were
attracted to, whether it be why people would click
on certain articles or why people dress they way
they do every day. I really feel like it was the
psychology of aesthetics and how people build
their own. And then I minored in Stern for
business. I got a very diverse education, but
definitely with what I am doing now on the site,
I’m able to understand my readers and my
demographic and what people are gravitating
towards today.
How did you start Friend of a Friend?
I started it last May. I had moved to New York, I
had done internships every semester, I felt like I
was, number 1, in a good position to branch out
on my own, and all those internships were
extremely inspiring to me. So learning a lot,
meeting a lot of new people, but then I was also
really interested in the college student
perspective, someone who really has nothing to
lose, who is super focused on one thing, whether
that be art or fashion or design, not necessarily
jaded by the working world and having to be in an
office everyday. I wanted to build a platform for
people to talk about the things that they love with
no extra add-ons.
Where did the name come from?
I have always thought of “Friend of a Friend” as
an extremely trusting phrase, I could say to you,
“a friend of a friend told me about this nail salon
in Soho,” and you and I would go just because I
used that phrase. People really have such a
comfort in hearing something come through
word-of-mouth. I wanted to create a community
where people felt comfortable. Already pushing
people out of their comfort zone to try something
new is a challenge, and I wanted to create an
environment where people were excited to do
that, and felt they were doing it with friends.
What keeps you inspired for new content on
Friend of a Friend?
A lot of people ask me that. They’re like, “Oh,
what websites do you read, like where do you
look?” But I think living in New York itself is
extremely inspiring, I always find myself kind of
exploring new neighborhoods and walking on my
own, and I feel like when I first moved here I was
so scared of the subway and I was in taxis all the
time, but now I walk everywhere and I’m always
finding new things and new neighborhoods.
But also, once again, word of mouth is such a big
part of my business so I love hearing where my
friends are going and hearing what they are doing.
Embodying what I am telling my readers to do is
equally as important for my everyday life. Not
staying in routine, going out and trying new
places and building those connections.
I was going through the website and I noticed
Gigi Hadid and Sofia Richie are some of your
guest editors. They’re both coming up in fashion
right now, how did you go about getting them to
collaborate?
They were all extremely interested in
collaborating or partnering together to help grow
the site. I think that a really big part of the site is
that I want everything to feel like as unknown as
possible. So those are people who are doing
amazing things in the industry, and doing
something different and on the rise, whether it
was Rumi Neely at the time she was about to
launch Are You Am I, or Lauren Gerrie as she was
building her culinary empire and cooking
amazing meals for Marc Jacobs. The star factor
was never the biggest factor to me. What are you
doing that’s creating conversation for people? Are
you bringing people together? How are you doing
that? I love working with people who are
contributing to the industry in an interesting way.
You have so many travel guides on your website,
what has been your favorite destination yet?
I would say the most popular is Paris. I get texts
from people multiple times a week saying that
they are using my Paris guide and that is the best
feeling in the world. But I think that is doing so
well because I didn’t go to Paris and focus on the
5-star restaurants that everybody knows. I really
explored and tried to find places that I would go
to myself. I essentially want to create a guide
where if someone was coming to New York,
where I would go as a person who lives in New
York.
I think the most fun one was Savannah, Georgia. I
actually went there in May to be on the jury for
SCAD’s senior fashion show. It was amazing, one
of the most satisfying experiences I’ve ever been
a part of. I ended up spending an extra day there
and just walked the town and went to probably 20
restaurants in one day. It was one of those
experiences that was so on brand for me. I didn’t
know anyone, I had hardly any friends who had
been there and had no experience to base it off
of. So I explored, which is something I push my
readers to do.
What is something unexpected about you that
people might not know?
I think the most unexpected thing is that I do
have a 9-to-5. I recently started at Spring over the
summer to work on fashion partnerships. The app
is my latest shopping addiction – it allows you to
shop from thousands of different brands in one
app. So essentially the largest digital mall in the
palm of your hands (with free shipping and
returns!). I’ve been focusing on working with
influencers, planning events, and building the
brand’s presence in a social sphere. I’m so
excited to take what I’ve learned from having my
own business and implement it in a larger way.
I’m in a great growing and learning phase right
now.
But I think that there is definitely a misconception
abut influencers today. I always get people being
like, “So what do you actually do?” People think
that it’s this very glamorous lifestyle where I just
meet people for lunch all day, go to events, and
get sent things. But I think that there’s also this
pocket of influencers right now that are really
interested in their actual career and professional
development. Sure there is a glamorous aspect of
it that comes with having a social job, but I want
to be of influence in multiple pockets of the
industry and not just be constrained to one thing.
I want to gain as much experience as I can so I
can get a full picture of the industry I’m in. I was
really shy at first when I first started at Spring
because I got a lot of responses saying, “Oh, so
you’re not doing Friend of a Friend anymore?”, but
I have the ability to do multiple things at once
and contribute my ideas to a variety of projects. I
think it’s a great time to be in this industry right
now because the landscape proves that you don’t
have to be just one thing.
What would you tell someone who is looking to
start their own blog?
Don’t be afraid of what other people are going to
think of you. I think I was really nervous when I
started my blog. I was worried about what my
friends would say and how I was going to be
perceived in comparison of this other person. All
of those emotions were important data points for
me to build your career off of, but don’t let it
cripple you in terms of growing yourself and
putting yourself out there. I remembered when I
first started, I would literally take hours working
on an Instagram, thinking “does this work?” or
“are people going to like this?” and I had a really
close friend of mine one day just be like “People
are going to relate to you and like you, those are
the people you want as your followers. Don’t be
afraid of who you are and put that out there.” That
was a really important message to me. My
personality has become a large part of my
business so I can’t be afraid to show it.
If you could give advice to your 16 year old self,
what would it be?
Everything is going to be just fine! I remember
when I was 16, I was such a worrier, I need all
my dots to be connected at all times. I think that
is a good thing and a bad thing, but I’ve learned
to understand the bigger picture of life, take a
step away from the small things, and know that
it’s a journey and not everything will happen at
once.
What are you currently listening to?
I am loving Solange’s new album. From her lyrics
to the videos she released, that’s to me is art and
emotional expression. We have so much fluff
today and so many people just releasing singles
and being one-hit-wonders. So to actually relate
and feel connected to a body of work is
something that is really rare and I have a lot of
respect for.
What’s one beauty item you cannot leave the
house without?
Okay, you are opening a can of worms because I
am a beauty freak. When I have friends over, I
close my bathroom door out of embarrassment of
the amount of beauty products lined up all around
my bathroom. One thing I can’t live without is
from this brand called Wei. They have this three
pack of their best face masks. There’s a drying
mask, a hydrating mask, and an exfoliating mask,
and I literally order it once a month and it’s like
my weekly treat when I get to put them on. But
on a day-to-day basis, I love anything Glossier.
What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
I’ve always been very fashion forward for my
halloween costumes, and I’m always like what
dress of mine can I turn into some costume. I
can’t remember the last time I bought like a
store-bought costume, but I’m looking for ideas,
so if anyone has any, shoot them at me!
